A Photo Tip...

When using a flash keep in mind that it's never a bad idea to use it in the sun as well. When shooting on a sunny day in direct light it creates hard shadows. These shadows increase the contrast in the photo and can make viewing detail in those shadows hard to see. When you use a flash in this setting you fill in the shadows which reduces the contrast and makes a more evenly lit photo. It works to your advantage even more when you have your subject entirely in shade while your background remains in the sun (like under a tree). Using the flash it exposes your subject to match the sunny background and lights your subject evenly.
